The body is a pathway to the soul. Body centered practices including creative expression (art, ritual, dance and music); heart centered meditation (connecting to the body and energy present); and embodiment practice (allowing the natural intelligence of our bodies to come forth through movement and sound) can lead us to the landscape of wholeness; to the place of reclaiming all of who we are. These practices give us a vehicle to move out of our heads and into our bodies. We can turn up the volume on our hearts and allow our ego, the thinking mind, to take its appropriate place as a partner in our emotional and spiritual growth. We can then allow our feelings to move through, our dark and our light places, and in doing so, experience the Love that is readily available to us all. When we discover this Love, we live from a bigger space. We begin to hear a different voice, one that gives us a lot of room to embrace our humanity; to let Life run through our flesh and bones. We need our bodies in this process. We cannot leave our bodies behind in our healing.
In all of her classes, Jenny allows body centered practices to be vehicles that can, if we allow them, lead us back to the truth of who we are. Jenny has developed curriculum for a year-long women's circle; a class for children and for children and their parents; and a workshop for committed adult partners. She is currently developing curriculum for a year-long program, named Teshuva (pronounced "shoova"), that will focus on returning to the spiritual strength within, through body centered practices.
Jenny has been guided by the wisdom of her heart, in her own healing and in her teachings. She is grateful to the teachers in her life that have led her back to her body and heart. They include: Gabrielle Roth and the 5 Rhythms™; Melissa Michaels and SomaSource™; Ellie Corriell and her teachings of Qi Gong and Heart Centered Meditation; Susan Aposhyan and her Body Mind Psychotherapy work; and Diane Henn and her teachings using movement and dance. Jenny's work is deeply guided and inspired by her own heart and those who have taught her. Her greatest teacher on the planet is her mother, who in her absence, has taught Jenny how to truly love.
